Beautiful Weather

I love the climate here right now. It’s been SO nice. Mild temperatures, a bit of snow (well maybe a LOT as of last night) and sun. I just came back from my first major outdoor ed trip thursday night. The weather was gorgeous and we couldn’t have had it better. On wednesday we left at 8:30am from the school and bussed to the Gats (Gatineau Park). We unloaded and skied with our heavy hiking packs on for about an hour and a half to the luxurious cabin. We unpacked, ate lunch, and went out to ski again. The best part was probably coming back to the cabin in the evening to eat dinner and relax. The cabin was awesome: it had little sectionals with four bunks in each. The bunks weren’t too comfy… There were also two futon-couches in front of an old iron fireplace. Beside that was a full kitchentte complete with a coffee-maker, kettle, sinks, fridge, and stove. We were really roughing it.

The next big trip actually takes us into New York state to this mountain-range I can’t spell.  As far as I know it’s a three day hiking trip in the mountains and we don’t have to constantly carry the huge packs. This excites me greatly. We apparently just need little daypacks and we leave the big fat ones at our camp area. Yesss.

Busy busy!

It’s been a while since I last wrote. I just thought I’d state the obvious.

From the last time I wrote: I have been hacked a couple more times, I had a job interview at Shopper’s Drugmart for a second job, handed in additional application information for Waterloo, went to a dance and a couple outdoor ed trips. Probably some more stuff I’ve forgotten in there too.

You’re probably wondering why I need a second job. Well that’s simple, for university. I’m not going to assume my parents are actually going to help out at all so I must save for myself. Also, my friend at the deli, Kelly, told me about Shopper’s and how much better it is than cutting up synthetic meat. You don’t need to wear a hairnet or a stupid hat!! I am truly excited about that part. The interview went very well and the manager seems to be a very nice guy. One thing in a job I personally look for is good management and nice people. He definitely meets the criteria so far. I’m pretty confident I’ll get the job.

As for University status, I’ve handed in this extra information they wanted, called an AIF [Application Information Form]. They just ask you generic questions about your marks (of course) and your hobbies and whatnot. I did one for the chemistry program and one for computer science. I don’t know what I’m going to do if I’m not accepted. I’m about 80% confident about the computer science, and I will most-likely get into chemistry. If I don’t get into waterloo at all, I guess I’m joining Ben back at high school next year :P

Outdoor ed has been exciting and go-go-go lately. We’ve been on two trips so far this year, with the third coming up on the 28th. The first was a ski/snowboard trip to Mt. Pakenham where it was mostly a leisurely ski/board for a few hours. Then yesterday we went on a trip to Camp Fortune to cross-country ski in the Gats (Gatineau Park). That was enjoyable. It was a perfect day for skiing except for the gale force wind that struck us whenever we weren’t in the trees. That was brutal. Other than that, it was a good workout and a good ski. My dad also came along in order to drive people up instead of taking the very expensive bus ride to get up there. The next trip on Wednesday is somewhere else in the Gats I think but it’s an overnight this time. No, not in tents outside. We get to sleep in a heated, fitted with an oven and stove, bunk bed, comfortable cabin. The only thing missing is the bathroom indoors – it’s outdoors. But thats ok, it has a heated seat. It will be a fun trip.

After the trip yesterday, I could have went home and soaked in the tub for hours but I went to the school’s only dance this year (except for prom later on). It was a fun dance. We actually had a real DJ come in this time from a local radio station so we didnt have a crappy little boombox on the stage to listen to (just kidding – it’s never happened). I was super tired before and after the dance. It took a bit for Harry to get into it, but I think he enjoyed it :)

This [long] weekend I need to write an essay and pack for the trip on Wednesday… I also need to pre-cook some of the food for the trip.

Hacked! – Again!

Well, a follow-up to the post below.

After the hacking of CFA I wrote that entry below. After that, void-flower and then x548.net were hacked. At this point I randomly decided to get FireFTP and try it but the password didn’t work for this ftp site! I thought it was just FireFTP… But it wasn’t of course.

I then tried to login to my cpanel – that didn’t work. This is when I semi-started to panic and spammed the support tickets to xFluro (sorry guys!). I know I’ve seen it elsewhere, but the hackers were those Arabic guys who leave that page that says “This site has been hacked”. Thank goodness all they do to all domain-level sites is overwrite index.php and add two files so all my stuff is fine. I was really worried about the database stuff :\

This was all apparently because I had an insecurity of some sort on my CFA site. Which is weird… since all I have are simple PHP includes and a really simple login script. I highly doubt it could lead to the taking over of my whole cpanel…
