I procrastinate. A lot.

It’s a very bad habit. I keep doing all my assignments last minute. Or rather, last-couple-of-hours. I was at school from 8am until 1am on Tuesday this week, because I needed to finish TWO assignments. I know I need to stop this horrible habit and start things earlier, but when I do, I can never get anything done because I know it’s not due the next day or earlier! I do work well under pressure though. I discovered I was a bit of a mathematical genius at 12 at night.

What else am I procrastinating on? Everything. I should be doing website things as well as other things. Why haven’t I done them yet? Because they’re not due at any specific time. I really need deadlines for things. The stricter the better.

So what am I doing with all my “spare” time? Farting around on the internet, randomly browsing sites, looking at gorgeous blogs and wishing I could be that good. I’ve also been rather hooked on HPDM fanfics and I’ve started my own. :D Exciting! Miles and I have also co-started one as well. He is supposed to write the first chapter, but he has gone and disappeared from the internet…

I had a crazy dream last night too. I was part of a mountain relay race thing and I was the last person to run it – at night. I came in jeans and a sweater, so about 20 minutes before I was supposed to start running up this huge mountain and back down, I realized I really wasn’t dress for the weather! I was snowing and quite cold. Since taking OE, I realized I needed to be wearing non-cotton, and sporting layers of clothing. So I dashed off to this condo apartment thing which was similar to a log cabin, and I ran around trying to find some polyester things like: tights, a long sleeve base layer, a second layer of a fleece top and track-style pants. By the time I got all those items, I was running late! I had about 1 minute to get down to the start line before the other person I was going after got back.

At the start line, I made a quick observation: are there not wolves and other nocturnal predators on the mountain? Before I could think about that anymore, it was my turn to start running. Now properly dressed, I start running up the snowy hill and I enter a dark forest. Next thing I know, a wolf had bounded out of no where and starts attacking me.

This is where I woke up at around 5:30am. I got back to sleep thinking: wtf – random dream.

Going home!

Thanksgiving is turing out to be my most anticipated holiday yet. I get to go home for a bit! I could possibly go home more than just that one weekend, but the 6 hour drive there and back would be fairly lacking of a point. It will feel so good to go home for a bit. But then that means I can’t go home until mid December… Aw.

School has been pretty busy, but I know I should be busier. I have never really studied for much, and managed to get by with 80s-90s in highschool – but here it’s way different. I studied a fair amount (compared to my usual of nothing) and I’m barely getting 60s. That’s the average of my stuff though, some assignments I’ll get 90s, but then some (all of my CS ones…) I’ll fail horribly. The CS ones are so easy too! It’s just that instructions are not clear at all so when you go to write your program, it works perfectly, but then their ‘auto-checker’ marks it wrong because you didn’t name your parameters the exact way. Ugh. Such a piss-off. The second assignment was like that – I did it all perfectly, it worked and did what it was supposed to. I even asked my prof if I could name the parameters differently. Then how come I failed it miserably? Because apparently my prof is very wrong and therefore I was very ‘wrong’. I will just have to be extra careful…

My first set of midterms was interesting as well. I thought midterms would be tougher – but they really aren’t. Two of my midterms so far have been 40/25 multiple choice questions. My CS midterm (I passed – don’t worry) was writing simple little programs. I still have two math ones coming up, but I think it’s pretty obvious they won’t be multiple choice (aw…)

Ps- New theme in effect is the one I’ve been working on since I think last winter… :\ It’s still not done.

Class101

Classes have started (they started on the 10th) and they have been pretty dry so far. It seems like university won’t be thaaat difficult. For now.

It amazes me SO much to see people who do not know what a function is in calculus class. We were doing grade 12 review (seemed like grade 11 or 10 really…) and a girl in the class didn’t understand what the prof was doing. He was outlining a function, and a simple graph that corresponds to it. She didn’t get it. Why is she in math?

It is also unbelievably awesome being away from home! No one nags me 24/7! Not that they [family] saw much of me at home anyways… I was always on the computer… :\
