Wasting time at its best

I should be studying/writing a paper but what am I doing instead? Finding the max row/column in MS Office 2007 Excel. Every version of Excel since [I think] 98, I always waste x amount of minutes finding the very last cell. Yes I’m a loser.

Turns out in version 2007, the max cell is signifigantly larger than the previous versions. It stops at a random place though… I think in 2000 or so it was still in the double letters and definitely was not in the million digit for the row #.

If you want to waste 10-20 minutes of your life, you can do it to! Tip: Use your mouse’s middle click for it to autoscroll. Don’t try and manually scroll this.

Making Christmas

Making Christmas, making Christmas la la la laa (hum to the tune of “Making Christmas” from The Nightmare Before Christmas”.

No I’m not making christmas but I’m starting to make cards! Last year I gave out cards (in constrast to the rest of my immediate family who never give out cards) but they weren’t hand-made. This year, I want to get a bit crafty and make them myself!

I bought all my card-making supplies from Michael’s (expensive, oh well) and I’ll probably start sometime this week after all my midterms and stupid stuff like that. I was even bored enough yesterday to take a picture and PS the crap out of it (click to enlarge):

Should be fun!

I always get the old prunes!

I hate First Choice [Hair-cutters]. I’ve hated them before and swore I wouldn’t go back to them, but I went back. Now I have renewed my vow of never going back.

I opted to go there in the first place for two reasons. 1: I was too lazy to find a spa-type place to get a real haircut. 2: The money thing. I have plenty of it for a university kid, I just don’t think spending $50 for a haircut is a good way for it to disappear.

At the horrible place, which was conveniently located in the back of a Zeller’s I was in, I put my name down and waited. There were young hair-cutters there, so I was relieved. I would finally go to a First Choice and get someone who actually knew what there were doing. Did I? Of couuuursee not. I got the old grumpy lady. The old prune.

I asked her for layers with the longest one being about 2 inches shorter than my hair was pre-cut. How much did she take off? About 4. I didn’t mind too much about that bit. I also asked for the side pieces around my face to be stair-case style. She cut those way too short as well. It looks stupid.

She finishes chopping and asks if I want it dried. It looks god-AWFUL at this point in time because my hair has already started drying. My hair is naturally curl-wavy so it looks so stupid half dry. So I say yes.

She proceeds to dump way more than the suggest dime-sized amount of frizz-taming serum on the top of my head. A big no-no! You do not put a dollop of anything on the top of the head at the roots! She didn’t even rub it in or anything, and didn’t even dry that spot.

I left with semi-dry hair and a really greasy top-of-my-head. It looked disgusting to say the least. As soon as I got into my car to go home, I put it up so I could cover the outrageous greasyness. It’s like I was Snape’s cousin with red hair it was so bad.

I hate First Choice. Next time, I’m spending the money and time just to get a decent hair cut. Hopefully I can do something with the appalling thing I have now.

In lighter news, I posted the first chapter of my HPDM fic called “Admit One” on ff.net. I’ve already received 8 reviews and there were about 20 emails in my box today with people faving and adding it to their “alert list”! Who knew that my first little fic would be this well received. I thought that it wouldn’t get read at all, and I just put it up there for my own pleasure. :B
