About the Author
I started blogging in 2003 prior to this giant blogging craze that took over and everyone had a blog. I probably wrote more back then too. I wrote about stuff like my life, or maybe just updates for my dumb little graphics site(s). Now I try to write something with more depth and more detail about my life and what happens in it. You may find this exciting or extremely boring. It’s too bad for you that I don’t really write for people who read it.
I write mainly for my future self who will look on these entries and scoff.
Who Am I?
A bit about me: My name is Rebecca, but in informal situations I’m called ‘Bex’ or ‘Bekki’. I was 17, then 18 when I first wrote this and now I can say I’m 19. My birthday is January 19th. I live in Canada, and I love the place except for winter (when it’s really damn cold). Making websites is a favoured past-time and I’ve been doing it for about 7 years now. I like olives a lot too.
I am currently pursuing a computer science degree at the University of Waterloo after successfully graduating from high school. I’m doing the co-op program so that means every four months I work instead of school. Then I go back to school the next four months. That’s right: no breaks until I graduate. Plus side: No McSummerJobs and $work_exp++;.
Online Presence
I float around online. A lot. I’ve had a few aliases over the years:
- moonryse - Circa 2000. People thought I was copying from someone else who had something similar (I forget the username now), but I wasn’t. :\
- missb_1000 - 2000-2001? A good friend and I made ourselves some ‘creative’ internet names for Neopets. Hers was missk_1000.
- superberri[4] - 2001-2005ish. The four was optional. I thought this was a pretty good alias at the time.
- h4xnoodle - 2005-Presentish. A product of my caffeine-filled imagination some night at 4am. I like noodles and I was going through a phase where I thought I was 1337. I still use this, but not around people who are actually leeter than me. Then it would just be embarrassing.
- void-flower/void - Present. I’m slowly working into this one. The first instance was my domain name, where I was perhaps a little depressed while buying it. The term ‘void’ seems to fit me though.
I’ve been known to use other variations/names for accounts on sites such as Neopets, but this sums up the more frequently used ones.
