All moved in.

Today I drove the big long stretch from Ottawa to Waterloo. It’s around 550km for those who have no idea where either (or both) of those places are. I was hoping today would be a good day to drive back because it was supposed to be rainy and overcast, and therefore I would not roast in my non-air-conditioned car on my way there. At the beginning, it looked like it would be sunny, which would have been undesired. By the time I got down to Kingston-ish, it was raining and did not stop until about one hour ago in Waterloo. Yes, all through Toronto it was raining. I could not see very far ahead of me at all. This and the fact that some complete idiots like to put on their brakes for random reasons is hazardous. I probably would have slid into the imbecile in front of me if my reaction time wasn’t game-generation. There were also other idiots on the road that drive ugly things like purple vans and drive very slowly in the left or over-taking lane. /facepalm. I was happy when I saw him (and other idiots) take the off ramp.

Summer school?

So why am I back in the city that contains my university? To go to school in the summer. The way the co-op/school alternating thing works is that I have an alternating schedule of co-op/school. Circular explanation! Starting Monday I start my May-Aug term. I’ve explained this too many times. x_x

I, for one, am excited. This time I should know what I’m doing and get better grades… :D Obviously I cannot get 90-100% (well, maybe I could..) like some people. I am so jealous. How do you do it!?

Even though I’ve had so much free time in the past week between the end of work and the beginning of school, I still have a mound of crap to do. I keep offering to do things to make this mound bigger too. I need to learn how to say no, really.

Twitter… invalid!?

After posting this the first time, I checked my validation on this page for lack of anything else better to do. Much to my dismay: Twitter makes this page invalid (strict). Ahh! Does this mean I can’t have twitter on my site?! :( I don’t think there’s much I can do to correct it since it’s generated on the fly.

I get the good marks I have by constantly drinking orange juice, smoking controlled and restricted substances, and spending all my free time playing online video games.

Oh wait, that’s not it at all.

While I’m at UW, I’m not constantly wired to social networks and e-mail/IM and I do all of my work in an isolated space like my floor’s study room (my own room is full of terrible distractions). I work on assignments with friends whom I can consult for help, and vice versa, which makes the weekly homework grind more than bearable :-)

I make sure to read through the marked assignments I get back from my profs, and annotate the things that I need to practice more on the front page. Come exam time, I’ll have a neat list of things in the course I sucked particularly hard at so I can do more of those types of problems when studying.

Now you know my secret(s). Go out there and kick some ass this term.

PS: You don’t have to remove Twitter to maintain W3C validation. Just get your tweets some other way (PHP API? cron job to occasionally update a local CSV file?) and format the raw data into nice /valid/ XHTML yourself before dumping it on the page here.

Oh I hate driving in weather like that. I’ve only been scared once, but that was because of tornado warnings going off everywhere and I was having trouble controlling my vehicle. I’m glad you got there safely though.
I know I didn’t do so well my first semester of college either. I think the second semester is easer for everyone. Good luck with it and i hope you get all A’s. The way I do it is balancing my studies well with my social life. It also helps if you already know a lot about the subjects. lol.

Hm, summer school … I don’t believe in summer school. Summer is a time for beach volleyball. What are you doing studying? >.<
