Hello March!

I just flipped over my Hello Kitty calendar, and that’s what Ms. Kitty said :)

I can’t believe it’s March already! It feel like it was just yesterday I was starting university; even more like yesterday that I was starting my co-op work term. I’m half-way done the co-op term now, then I go back to school for May - August. Along with (hopefully) the subsiding winter weather up the great ol’ North to disappear, I can’t wait to go back to school again! I love just being there on my own. I don’t think I’ll mind being in school over the nice summer months either. XD

Partially the reason I’m so excited for school is because I finally get to take the Japanese course. I wanted to take it so badly in first term, but the way my other mandatory classes were arranged, I couldn’t cram it in anywhere. During the summer I will be taking: Calculus II, Linear Algebra, CS136 [Algorithm stuff?], Japanese!!!! and Intro to Macroeconomics. A pretty good mix - should be fun!

Mmm pixel corn

I just got a Nintendo DS a little while ago and one of those flashcarts so I don’t have to buy a game. I have high morals I know. ;)

Anyways, after being addicted to Cooking Mama for a while, then playing some Mario Party for the DS, I thought I’d give Harvest Moon DS a try. I saw the game cover in the store and it looked really cute so why not? I usually don’t get interested in things unless it looks pretty. It’s the designer in me. ;)

I downloaded the ROM and booted it up. Oh. My. Goodness. Not only is it the most adorable thing ever, it’s SO addictive. At first I thought it was just about growing the crops and selling them. Even that would have been sufficient for my level of gameplay. I went to some websites later for more information on how to play, since it wasn’t too clear, and I discovered a whack-load more that you’re able to do: mining, fishing, cute little animals, even marriage. The list goes on. The mines are what boggled my mind the most. The first one is 10 floors. Big whoop. Second: 255. Ouch. Third is 999! :O Fourth… 65,535 floors. Wtf. First thing I thought here: Maximum memory size! (Nerd in me?) That and “holy shit?”. I don’t think I’ll get that far. I hope I don’t anyways (= no life).

The game is really addictive so far and I don’t really see myself stopping in the future. Though I can see it slowing down after the marriage to the girl of my choice (I like Celia ) and I get all the upgrades. Even those would take forever though (43bn for a gold barn..)

Other than that stuff up there, I’m busy procrastinating on the small amounts of school work I have and doing a ton of website stuff. I recently took on a website for a UW club and that’s going well. It now takes me about 5 mins to slap together a very simple theme for wordpress. I’ve done so many in my short lifetime… Is that a bad thing? x_x

I’m so lazy I bet it will be “Hello April!” when I write next :P

Harvest moon! XD I’m also addicted to that game, but my brother has monopolized the PS2 and so I rarely use it. (thank goodness for that too!)
I’m also procrastinating (like always) :D
