I passed!
…barely.
My first term marks are quite embarrassing. I keep reading blogs of people who are in university and doing really well and it depresses me. I know Waterloo tries to weed first termies out and lots of other people fail, but still. My marks are absolutely horrid. I’m not even going to post them here since my parents could find them (and then laugh at me) but I did post them at my LJ for friends-only. If you’re dying to see my shitty marks, by all means, go add me as a friend and look.
I hope my co-op work term goes well and then the next term after that improves some…
Sometimes I dream about disappearing from home and moving to the UK or Australia to start some crazy new life. Maybe if I end up being a drop-out I can make it a reality :\

Everyone has different learning levels, some just bind themselves to their books to get where they are, others enjoy a bit more freedom and life.
I hope you will do better to get to where you want to be, and don’t be too hard on yourself ^_^

You have the most wonderful taste in places to escape to. A small community in the UK is the last place any one would look for a Computer Science student. Raise some sheep and you will have disappeared off the face of the earth.
Or the Australia plan works too. Just replace the sheep with a herd of kangaroo or platypus or something, and Presto, its New Life.
Don’t worry, if you disappear from work and school, I will tell no one. I know how it feels.
Cheers

Aww! One bad term doesn’t mean that it will always be like that, or that you’ll end up being a drop out! College is definitely hard, and you really have to work your butt off to do good. I’m sure that most people you read about who are doing great in university can agree with that, or admit that they are just incredibly lucky, heh.
I know I’m commenting like a week later, but I felt like I had to… I could somehow relate. I didn’t do very good in my first term either, but I learned to work things out in a different way; turns out that what used to be an effective method for doing good in class before just wasn’t working anymore, and every year it changes as the classes and the professors change. As dumb as it made me feel at first I got over it, and I have done a lot better since then.
So, good luck with your next term. Dedicate it all your time if it’s necessary, and you’ll see how you’ll do significantly better. Best wishes!

I ran across our post completely randomly, but I’m one of these people “If you’re dying to see my shitty marks, by all means, go add me as a friend and look.” So I added you as a friend on LJ.
