I don’t like SPAM!
I recently install Akismet… but it doesn’t work! Well, I guess it might since it says it;s blocked 48 comments, but then I have to go through a manually delete a lot of the ones that got through. There are a lot of them. I just finished deleting around 50. Ugh! I have now switched my wordpress options to only allow commenting for those who register. I really can’t stand having to delete mounds of comments every week.

I now have a captcha-ish thing + Akismet. Hopefully this is better…

Get a plugin to help. No, not Akismet. That helps, but not completely. To top it off, you can find a math plugin or simular. One where your commenter’s would have to figure a small and easy sum before posting a comment, therefor a bot could not get through. It may be annoying for some, but it’s a lot easier than for each person to have to register.

Hmm… ok, thank you for the advice. I was going to develop my own little math captcha, but I’ll probably find a plugin. It is annoying for the commenters, but I’m pretty sure it’s more annoying for me to go through the 100s of spam comments…

I used to use a math plug-in and then I installed Akismet. I think it works pretty well. (I’m probably the only one who thinks that haha..)
